💰 This price is considered an excellent value, especially with an additional $20 off using code WELCOME20.
🔄 Shoppers debated alternatives like the F3 Pro and ZT3 Pro, highlighting differences in weight, suspension, and intended use (city vs. rugged terrain).
📦 Shipping is noted as unavailable for Quebec addresses, and a 20% restocking fee applies to returns, causing some hesitation.
🚨 Community Members discussed the legality of e-scooters in Toronto and the challenges of transporting them on public transit.
⏱️ The deal proved very popular and quickly went out of stock, disappointing members who missed it.

One thing to note is that I believe E-Scooters are banned on the TTC from (approximately) November-April. I've seen people get tickets before for bringing them onto the subway cars.
Doesn't affect everyone but might be good to know as a heads up.

Can anyone comment on the anti lock feature on the segway app? You can lock it from actual use through Bluetooth and the app, but does it work in practice? Does it actually prevent scooters from being wheeled away?

Choose kick scooters and bicycles that are not battery operated, and ensure children and youth wear a helmet when they ride."
Does anyone else have more insight into this? Is this considered an e-scooter since it's battery operated?
E-scooters are illegal in Toronto, but there is effectively no enforcement for many things in Toronto. You're free to smoke as much fent in TTC stairwells as you'd like, just as you're free to use a scooter!
For the TTC/GO commuter set, I strongly recommend a folding bike, I use one for bus commuting in Hamilton 365 days a year. I have an American Zizzo Liberte but this one from Decathlon is fantastic: https://www.decathlon.ca/en/p/8527258/t ... lding-bike

The information provided is very vague, there’s no mention of the scooter model, whether the rider was wearing a helmet, or other important context.
For all we know, the individual could have been under the influence or riding recklessly at high speed (ex 50 km/h).
While it’s true that e-scooters tend to be more prone to accidents, it’s often due to inexperienced or careless riders.
From what I understand, the Prince Edward Viaduct is relatively flat, so the incident might suggest the rider was going quite fast, or perhaps the city hasn't been keeping up with proper maintenance on the bridge.

I mean.... It was only a matter of time. People have gotten killed just jaywalking across the street. And even tho jaywalking is technically against the law, it hasn't stopped people from doing it.

The problem is that most people don't wear helmets when riding e-scoots and on weekends the public e-scooters are being driven by drunks. I'd like to see what the stats are for sober people wearing helmets.

I heard about an e scooter accident as well, and sadly I have to agree that a lot of details are missing. A lot of people buying and using these scooters are kids, and they don't have proper safety training, don't have experience driving cars, how to navigate on roads safely. I even see older people nowadays riding their scooters and bikes on the sidewalk, which is another hazard. On top of that, its as you said they don't even wear helmets. This is why, the lax rules, the lacking bike lanes, its all creating a sort of wild west situation out there. Doug Ford is just making things even worse than it has to be by blocking cities from doing whats necessary to keep young people safe.
I also think its time we started making helmets mandatory for anyone riding bikes or scooters as an interim short term solution. Its needed because of all the other things are seriously lacking, ie bike lanes and safety training. Fine anyone that isn't wearing a helmet, and if its a kid, fine the parents.

You'd have to be heavily intoxicated or going really fast to die on a flat bridge on a e scooter.

I feel like I've nearly died a number of times going over bad potholes on the side of the road after sunset on a road bike (I do wear a helmet and have lighting). Correct me if I'm wrong as I've never been on a scooter, but I imagine it would be worse on one in that scenario.

Yes I would concur! Smaller wheels to absorb the shock and probably drop the body into the pothole itself!

Are you sure about that?
I had an order cancelled before trying to get it shipped to my work.
I reordered the item again right after, shipping to my billing address, and the order didn’t get cancelled.
